GoDaddy Review 2026: Popular Doesn't Mean Great - CNET
GoDaddy’s extensive advertising makes it one of the most well-known web hosts, but that doesn’t mean it’s one of the best. Its higher-than-average prices, clunky website management tools and lackluster shared hosting security hold it back.
To assess GoDaddy, I bought a plan, built a website and spent a week tracking its uptime and site speed. I was disappointed at almost every turn as I encountered unnecessarily complex processes, poor WordPress tools and mediocre site speed. The one bright spot was that GoDaddy’s human support agents — while sometimes difficult to reach — were consistently fast, polite and helpful. However, this isn’t much of a selling point when you can get better customer support — and better hosting overall — from Ionos and SiteGround.
