Gigabyte Reveals Intel's Strategy To Survive The Memory Crunch In 2027

Are you excited for the new Intel desktop CPUs? No, not Nova Lake; I'm talking about the upcoming "Raptor Lake Next" re-refresh chips. We've known about these parts for a while, but Intel hadn't officially announced anything, and still hasn't. Instead, it's Gigabyte who has revealed that Intel will be bringing new CPUs to the middle-aged LGA 1700 platform in early 2027, in the form of a press release proclaiming support for the unannounced chips.

Gigabyte's announcement is pretty simple: if you have an existing Gigabyte motherboard based around Intel's B760 or H610 chipset, you will get a BIOS update that includes support for the new CPUs, whatever form they take. As Gigabyte says, "no board replacement, no system rebuild, and no complicated setup." Of course, the firm then goes on to say "a fresh wave of performance, delivered through the platform you already trust and love."
