Developed by The Coalition, E-Day is a prequel set 14 years before the original Gears of War, following younger versions of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they experience the Locust invasion on Emergence Day. It's also the studio's first Gears title built from the ground up on Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12, with The Coalition describing it as its most technically ambitious Gears game to date.
