Gartner Forecasts Global AI Spending to Hit $2.6 Trillion in 2026

Worldwide spending on artificial intelligence is projected to reach $2.59 trillion in 2026, growing 47% year-on-year, as hyperscalers, cloud providers, and technology vendors continue aggressively expanding AI infrastructure capacity, according to a new forecast from Gartner.

According to Gartner, AI infrastructure will remain the largest segment of the market over the next several years, accounting for more than 45% of total AI spending. The firm said demand for AI-optimized cloud infrastructure, servers, semiconductors, and networking systems is accelerating rapidly as companies prepare for increasingly compute-intensive generative AI and agentic AI workloads.

John-David Lovelock, VP Analyst at Gartner said spending on AI infrastructure is being driven largely by vendors and hyperscalers building capacity ahead of expected enterprise AI demand.
