Gaming’s Current Nightmare Is Probably the New Normal
Summer is usually one of the best times of the year for gamers. Steam’s Summer Sale is a chance to get some good games on the cheap, and big events like Nintendo Direct and PlayStation’s State of Play show gamers new titles to look forward to in the months and years to come.
Summer 2026 seems to be an off year. The aforementioned events had plenty of exciting games to look forward to, and the Steam Summer Sale went off without a hitch, but a string of other announcements dampened the mood, which had already been upset by rising console, handheld and PC component prices due to the RAM shortage.
