Gamers Are Still Upgrading PCs, Despite Sky-High Component Prices

Gamers seem determined to upgrade their PCs, even though graphics cards, memory, and storage are more expensive than ever. The latest Steam hardware survey shows many people are still paying a pretty penny for performance. The RTX 5070 has become by far the most popular graphics card among Steam gamers, and a near-majority now have 32GB of RAM or more.
The Steam hardware survey rarely shows huge jumps in hardware adoption. Often, cards creep up the rankings by a place or two as subtle, fraction-of-a-percent increases in market share drip-feed over time. But the RTX 5070 went from being an also-ran in August, with 3.77% of the whole Steam user base, to the most dominant card in years, with over 6.15% of all gamers running it in September.
