From Diagnosis To Decisions: Qure.ai Pushes AI Deeper Into Primary Care

For much of healthcare AI's first commercial phase, the proposition was relatively bounded: show an algorithm an X-ray, CT scan or another clinical image and ask it to detect something a clinician might need to investigate.

The next phase is more complicated.

AI is beginning to move closer to the point where clinical decisions are actually made — bringing together patient histories, clinical guidelines, documentation and workflow information to help determine what a healthcare worker should consider doing next.

That is what makes Qure.ai's latest regulatory milestone more interesting than another certification announcement.

The Mumbai-founded healthcare AI company says its Aira clinical decision support system has received Class IIb CE certification under the European Union's Medical Device Regulation. Launched in 2025, Aira is designed primarily for frontline healthcare environments in emerging economies, where shortages of trained personnel often coexist with fragmented records, administrative workloads and inconsistent digitization.
