From Data Scientists to FDEs: Inside MathCo’s 2,000-Role AI Bet
MathCo's plan to create more than 2,000 specialized AI roles looks, at first glance, like another large AI hiring announcement. Look more closely, however, and the more interesting story is not simply how many people the enterprise AI and analytics company intends to add. It is the kind of talent MathCo believes it will need — and where those people will sit in the enterprise AI value chain.
As it marks ten years, MathCo is shifting towards what it calls an “AI-native” operating model. Over the next four years, the company aims to build a workforce of more than 4,000 AI-native professionals across India and the US through a combination of upskilling existing employees and targeted hiring. The plan includes Forward Deployed Engineers, or FDEs, and sits alongside a company target of 3X growth over the same period.
