Firefox Didn’t Just Lose the Browser War. Mozilla Slowly Gave It Away

I never made a formal decision to quit Firefox.

There was no final crash, no single broken website, and no dramatic moment when I exported my bookmarks and swore never to come back. For a while, Firefox was simply my browser. Brave was installed as the backup browser, the one I opened when I wanted to test something, compare behavior, or get around an occasional compatibility issue.

Then the roles quietly reversed.

At some point, I started opening Brave first. Firefox became the backup. Later, I realized I barely opened it at all.

That transition matters because I suspect this is how Firefox loses a lot of users. Most people do not publish an angry goodbye post. They do not uninstall it immediately. They just start using another browser a little more often because it feels faster, works better with a certain website, blocks more junk out of the box,...
