The travel industry has been moving steadily towards faster, app-based payments, but airlines have been cautious about which new payment rails they let into checkout. For carriers, the issue is not just convenience. It is also about compliance, settlement, customer trust, and whether a payment method can work at scale across regulated markets.

Emirates has now added another option to that mix. The airline said customers can use Crypto.com Pay on emirates.com and the Emirates App, giving eligible UAE residents a new way to pay for bookings settled in Emirati dirham. The move turns a previously announced partnership into a live product integration and places the airline inside Dubai’s wider push towards digital transactions.
