Drone Summit 2026: Can Drones Become Rural India’s Next Job Engine?

Drone technology may be moving from policy conversation to grassroots deployment, with agriculture, rural services and youth employment emerging as the next big use cases.

Speaking at the National Drone Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, said drones are no longer just a modern technology tool. He described them as an enabler for scientific farming, stronger rural economies and new opportunities for young people.

The summit was held under the theme “From Policy to Prosperity” and brought together representatives from government, industry, cooperative institutions, agriculture, startups and rural India. It was organized by Drone Tech Multi-State Cooperative Society Limited in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation at The Leela Palace, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
