Dreamforce 2026 - why CEO Marc Benioff thinks this is the year of the living interface for Salesforce

This will be the year of interfaces. I don't think there's any question about that.

Yesterday in my look at the AIforce announcement made at Dreamforce, I said that I still wasn’t entirely clear that the messaging here was complete and expressed a hope that things would be fleshed out during the conference. AIForce is described in the official corporate blah blah as “a live interface”. What’s one of those, I asked.

Flash forward 24 hours and CEO Marc Benioff is on hand to drill down in more detail, hence the opening remark above. He reveals:

My primary interface to Salesforce shifted several years ago to Slack. One of the things that's really important to me is that Slack becomes the primary interface to Salesforce. While I still use Lightning, I'm using Slack and I'm using Cowork, and I expect to be using other interfaces as well…We showed you...
