Dreamforce 2026 - happy birthday Trailblazers! Building a company shaped by 23 million people
When Salesforce admins started picking each other’s brains 20 years ago, via online forums and coffee shop meetups, there was no formal organization or community, just a group of solo admins looking for support. Fast forward to 2026, and Salesforce is celebrating two decades of what is now the Trailblazer Community, made up of 23 million Trailblazers, who so far, have earned more than 151 million Trailhead badges between them.
The nucleus for Trailblazers started back in 2006, with Successforce Discussion Boards and IdeaExchange, which had a Reddit-style interface. Salesforce noticed that users were seeking questions and answers through their peers via these digital boards, which is how the community ignited.
