Dreamforce 2026 - Cool BritannAI! How the UK is holding its own in the AI revolution despite an apparent European tech lag

It used to be the done thing that wealthy Americans would do ‘the Grand Tour’ of Europe. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has carried on the tradition this year, spending two months there over the Summer.

It’s clearly stuck with him as he first mentioned it on the latest quarterly earnings call, before going on to tell attendees at this week’s Dreamforce keynote all about it.

During that sojourn he met with customers, lots and lots and lots of customers, and this appears to have made quite the impression, although perhaps not necessarily one that all Europeans might appreciate as he declared:

We might be living at it here [in the USA] or if you go to Shanghai, maybe it's AI on steroids right now, but when I went to Europe, I didn't see that same kind of transformation.
