‘Design in India, Develop in India’: Scindia's IMC 2026 Vision
At the 10th edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia outlined India's ambition to move beyond manufacturing technology at scale and strengthen its position as a global hub for technology design, development and innovation.
"Make in India is moving forward to design in India, develop in India and manufacture for the world," Scindia said during his keynote address.
His remarks points toward a broader direction for India's technology industry, where the focus is increasingly moving toward homegrown products, intellectual property and global competitiveness. While India has expanded its manufacturing capabilities over the past decade, the next challenge is turning that scale into technologies developed domestically and adopted in international markets.
