Creality's Pika Puts a Dual-Mode Laser/NIR 3D Scanner in Your Pocket — With Gaussian Splatting Soon
Creality has opened orders for a compact handheld maker-free 3D scanner, offering some impressive features at a pocket-friendly price: the Creality Pika.
"Pika turns real objects into editable 3D models, so every scan can move beyond capture and into creation," the company says of its latest launch. "You can refine your model, use it for 3D creation and creative reuse, and export it as STL/OBJ/PLY/ASC files to share with friends and creative communities. [The] seven parallel blue laser [scanning mode] supports detail capture up to 110,000 lux [ambient brightness] while NIR [Near Infrared] structured light with a filter reduces bright-light interference up to 80,000 lux for more stable scans."
