Could You Operate This Ultra-Weird Calculator?
Calculators can get really complicated and hard to use. I mean, have you ever tried Reverse Polish notation? It’ll make you feel like you’re doing some kind of strange alien math. Even the graphing calculators that we all used in school, like the legendary TI-83, have perplexing buttons and functions you probably never touched. Magmabow wanted to simplify things and ended up building one of the weirdest calculators ever devised.
What is the simplest interaction scheme possible? If we’re defining simplicity by the number of inputs and outputs, then one of each is the logical minimum. That’s the conclusion Magmabow came to and so his calculator has one button for input and one vibration motor for output. Enter the equation using that button and receive the answer via vibrations. It couldn’t be more simple!
