Connecting Your Inbox to an AI Agent Is Not Model Training
I was on a call with a client a few weeks ago.
They run a media company. We were building their AI system. Connecting data sources. Writing skills. Getting the team ready to use the thing at scale.
We were about to connect calendar and email.
Then they stopped me.
Their partner had asked if it was safe to connect email to the system.
Out of everything we had already touched (chat history, Drive files, finances, years of deals) they were asking about email.
That reaction makes sense once you sit with it.
Email is the historical record of the business. Every deal. Every relationship. Every decision that never made it into a doc. That is not a small concern. It is a real systems question, and it deserves a real answer.
