Cognizant to Build 15,000-Strong Frontier AI Workforce to Bridge Enterprise AI Gap

Artificial intelligence investments continue to accelerate across industries, but many enterprises are still struggling to convert AI adoption into measurable business impact. Addressing this gap, Cognizant has announced plans to develop a dedicated Frontier-certified workforce comprising 5,000 AI engineers and 10,000 business operators.

The company says the initiative is aimed at creating the human capability required to help organizations move beyond AI experimentation and scale AI-led transformation across business functions.

Building an AI-Ready Workforce

According to Cognizant, the first cohort of Frontier-certified professionals is expected to be deployment-ready by the fourth quarter of 2026. Along with reskilling existing employees, the company plans to strengthen its talent pipeline through direct recruitment from universities worldwide.

The workforce model focuses on professionals who can deploy AI systems while also taking accountability for measurable business outcomes, rather than only implementing technology.
