Cheer up, HR people - AI isn't coming for your jobs. In fact, it makes you more important!
In the face of the job-killing scourge of industries that AI apparently is, some cheer for the HR community from ADP CEO Maria Black who confidently asserts:
AI makes HCM ( Human Capital Management) more important.
So what makes HR people special? Black argues:
First, while AI excels at prediction and efficiency, it can't execute critical high-stakes HCM functions with a level of accuracy and consistency required. Because at the end of the day, payroll isn't a software function, it's a commitment to the people who showed up and did the work and there is no room for error.
Second, AI has added new layers of complexity for our clients as they manage their payroll, workforce management and regulatory compliance. These functions are rapidly evolving.
