If you've ever spilled a full pint of delicious craft beer over your phone then you know why water resistance is so important. In the past, phones didn't have any protection from liquids -- if we got them wet, we were told to put them in rice overnight and hope for the best. Times have changed, though, and now most Android phones and iPhones have at least some kind of water resistance.
