BSA calls for cybersecurity policy overhaul as frontier AI reshapes threats
The Business Software Alliance (BSA) has launched its 2027 Global Cyber Agenda for an AI World, calling on governments, including India, to update cybersecurity policies as advances in frontier artificial intelligence (AI) change the scale and speed of cyber threats.
The agenda, released during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, outlines eight priority actions aimed at helping cybersecurity teams respond to increasingly sophisticated threats. According to BSA, advanced AI systems can identify vulnerabilities, combine exploits and execute cyberattacks with greater autonomy, potentially reducing the expertise required to launch them.
BSA argues that cybersecurity policies designed around slower, human-led attacks may no longer be sufficient. It recommends wider use of AI for cyber defence and priority access to frontier AI cybersecurity systems for security professionals, building on efforts by technology companies to make these tools available to trusted defenders.
The agenda also calls for improvements in vulnerability management, the modernisation of legacy systems...
