Beast of Reincarnation is an epic, emotional, action-packed rollercoaster from start to finish, and despite some glaring hiccups, it successfully sticks the landing
Beast of Reincarnation left me surprised in several ways and expertly blends several aspects from popular titles like From Software's Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to Square Enix's Final Fantasy 16. Most importantly, though, developer Game Freak has taken its experience with its Pokémon games and crafted an entirely new and engaging game, delivering some of the best and most satisfying combat I've seen in a long time, and a narrative that will keep you guessing until the credits roll. It's not perfect and has a fair number of issues, but it has a worthy payoff.
Pros
- +Fantastic combat
- +Incredible sound design
- +Great soundtrack, but...
- +Immersive, captivating narrative
- +Good replay value/New Game Plus, including new difficulty
Cons
- -QoL issues/repeated dialogue
- -No cosmetic changes with new gear
- -...can be repetitive, lacking variation
- -Slow dialogue/some unnecessary cutscenes
