Apple’s New GenAI Subdomain Hints At Major Siri Upgrade For WWDC

Apple doesn't usually tip its hand before a major announcement, but sharp-eyed observers spotted something interesting over the weekend. It was discovered that Apple had added a new subdomain, genai.apple.com, to its official DNS servers, just about two weeks before the WWDC 2026 keynote kicks off on June 8.

The page doesn't load yet. Attempting to navigate there results in a connection timeout, which is a different kind of failure than simply mistyping a URL. It means something is coming, Apple has staked out the territory, but hasn't opened the doors.

Why Does A Subdomain Matter?

Apple already maintains dedicated Apple Intelligence pages on its main website, so the creation of a separate "genai" subdomain is a deliberate move, not a routine housekeeping update. The name itself, Generative AI, leaves little room for interpretation, though exactly what it will host is still an open question.
