Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro has variable aperture, and no Siri AI in Europe
Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The headline feature is a camera that can change its aperture, which no iPhone has done before.
Two of the phone’s flagship features will not work in Europe at launch.
Apple announced both models on Wednesday. Pre-orders open on Saturday 12 September and the phones arrive on Friday 18 September. The Pro starts at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299.

Siri AI is the rebuilt assistant Apple has spent the year previewing. It “will not be available initially in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS.” Features that depend on it will not work either.
