Apple’s long-delayed smart-home hub finally has a reported date with the living room.

After years of development setbacks and trailing rivals Amazon and Google in connected living spaces, Apple plans to enter the dedicated smart-display market on Oct. 13.

According to reports from Bloomberg News citing people familiar with the matter, the rollout centers on a new tabletop and wall-mountable display code-named J490, flanked by refreshed versions of the HomePod mini and Apple TV.
