Apple Cuts 200+ Jobs in Siri, AI & Vision Pro Team Restructuring

Apple Inc. is downsizing its workforce across key software and hardware divisions, laying off more than 200 employees as part of a broader strategic pivot toward next-generation artificial intelligence and upcoming smart wearable devices.

The workforce reductions target teams within Apple’s software engineering division—specifically those working on the Siri digital assistant and the Intelligent Systems Experience group—as well as specialized teams assigned to the Vision Pro spatial computer.

Shift Toward AI Realignment

Approximately 100 positions were eliminated within the Siri and core software development groups. According to internal sources, the job cuts stem from Apple’s ongoing overhaul of Siri’s underlying technical architecture. The transition to an AI-infused digital assistant requires new engineering skill sets, prompting the tech giant to reallocate internal resources and eliminate legacy roles while creating new AI-focused positions.
