Antmicro Adds to Its Open Hardware Portfolio, Releases KiCad Souces for a Thunderbolt 10GbE NIC
Antmicro has announced the launch of a permissively-licensed Thunderbolt to dual-10-gigabit-Ethernet adapter, made available as KiCad project files — and to serve as a reference design for others to build their own.
"Antmicro’s portfolio of open hardware reference designs includes a variety of accessories and adapters providing fast connectivity options for different use cases," the company writes by way of introduction to its latest release. "Popular examples include the Thunderbolt to GPU Adapter and the OCuLink to 10 GbE [10-gigabit-Ethernet] Adapter. To allow for high-speed network connectivity in Thunderbolt-enabled devices such as laptops and workstations, we recently developed a new Thunderbolt to 10GbE Adapter, combining the previous designs into one PCB."
