Slawomir Krupa, CEO of Société Générale, has a problem - his organization’s IT intensity ratio is deemed too high at 15% and he wants it down to 12%. Today’s level stands above the 160 years old Financial Services groups’s peers, he reckons, and that’s got to change.
In other words, the group has too much IT around to support its business needs and there’s room for consolidation and optimization for greater cost efficiencies - or as Krupa puts it:
It starts with a simple shift in posture before being disciplined in spending, one has to be disciplined in his or her needs. This is how we will continue to decrease our cost base in absolute terms.
