Andhra Pradesh Approves India’s 1st Quantum & AI University in Amaravati

In a major push toward establishing Andhra Pradesh as a hub for next-generation technology, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has approved the establishment of India’s first dedicated Quantum and Artificial Intelligence University campus in the capital region of Amaravati.

The landmark project will be developed by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous body operating under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The decision received official clearance during a Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.

  • Total Investment: Rs 730.7 crore spread over a five-year development phase.
  • Funding Model: 100% fully funded through Grant-in-Aid from MeitY, Government of India.
  • Campus Size: Spans 8.5 acres in the state capital, Amaravati.
