An Affordable Way to Build Your Own Rotating Welding Table
Most people can learn the basics of welding — particularly MIG welding — in an hour. It really isn’t very difficult when you can reach your workpiece well. But welding gets tricky when you need to lay down a long, consistent bead, because you have to move your whole body and that makes it difficult to stay steady. That’s even harder when that bead needs to wrap around something round, which is why Greenhill Forge constructed this DIY rotary welding table.
This is exactly what it sounds like: a table that rotates like a big motorized lazy Susan, so you can weld around something circular or cylindrical. With a properly set up rotary table, your body and arms can remain still and the workpiece will spin in front of you. That results in a nice, clean weld.
