American Airlines to Offer Inflight Starlink Wi‑Fi on 500+ Airbus Jets
American Airlines announced Tuesday that it will add SpaceX's Starlink Wi‑Fi to more than 500 Airbus narrowbody aircraft starting in early 2027. The rollout will cover its existing A320‑family jets and future A321neo and A321XLR jets, and will focus on domestic and short-haul international routes. The airline says Starlink will provide passengers with much faster, more reliable in-flight internet than many current systems.
Starlink uses a low Earth orbit satellite network, which helps deliver high bandwidth and low latency. They say this setup will let passengers stream video, join on‑camera work meetings, play online games, and browse the web—basically everything they can do on the ground.
