'Alstom To Roll Out AI Crowding Alerts For Delhi Metro Passengers'
Artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape the way railway signalling systems are engineered, tested and maintained as the smart mobility sector embraces greater automation and connected infrastructure. Today's railway signalling systems are no longer limited to keeping trains running safely. They are increasingly using AI to analyse operational data, support predictive maintenance, optimise train movements, improve energy efficiency and deliver a better passenger experience.
Rail technology company Alstom, one of the world's largest providers of railway signalling and smart mobility technologies, is also extending AI into passenger operations. According to Puneet Srivastava, Managing Director, Signalling and Infrastructure, Alstom India, the company is preparing to introduce an AI-powered capability that helps passengers identify the least crowded coach before a train arrives.
