Akamai Bets on Edge AI after $1 Billion APAC Revenue Milestone

Akamai Technologies said its Asia Pacific business crossed $1 billion in annual revenue in 2025, marking a significant milestone as the company prepares for its next phase of regional growth.

That strategy will increasingly focus on helping enterprises deploy artificial intelligence closer to users and data. Akamai sees AI inference at the edge, where applications process requests and generate responses in real time, as an emerging infrastructure opportunity across APAC.

The regional strategy is being led by Sean Li, Senior Vice President of Sales and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, who was recently appointed to oversee Akamai’s business in the region.

“APAC is moving beyond AI experimentation to execution,” said Li. “The real challenge now is making AI work in live environments, where latency, scale and reliability directly impact revenue and the customer experience.”
