The ‘Mythos Moment’ needs to be a wake-up call for us all as the world reaches a critical point in AI governance. So warns Microsoft President and Chief Legal Counsel Brad Smith as he reflects on the current speed at which the AI industry is accelerating.
Smith was talking at last week’s AI for Good Summit at which alongside the burning topic of ethical use of technology, the twin questions of regulation and governance dominated. At the same event, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff took people by surprise by backing the recent action taken by the Trump 2.0 administration to slap an export ban on Anthropic’s latest models on the basis that they were deemed a risk to US national security.
