WTF?! Some people love to generate AI slop images that spread false information, especially the kind that make people worry. That's not a good idea if you're in Singapore, where a man who used Gemini to make a fake image of a crocodile in a popular reservoir has been charged over the act and could face up to ten years in prison.
Ye Lin allegedly sent the AI-generated image of a saltwater crocodile at Pandan Reservoir to a colleague in August, presumably as a joke.
But the image led to a crocodile sighting being reported to Singapore's national water agency, PUB. The agency and national parks staff suspended all aquatic activities in the area for two days and started looking for a crocodile that didn't exist in the popular kayaking spot.
