AI Filmmaking Needs Its Own Version of "Print It"
Three weeks ago, I generated a corridor shot for Lost Garden, glanced at it for maybe four seconds, thought close enough, and moved on to the next beat. Six shots later, cutting the scene together, I noticed the torchlight in that one shot hit my character’s face from the wrong side. Not wrong in a way you’d catch in a quick look. Wrong in a way that only shows up when you put it next to the shots around it. I had to regenerate three more clips to make the sequence agree with the mistake I’d already accepted, because by then it was cheaper to match the error than to go back and fix it.
That four-second glance is the whole problem. Nobody caught it, because nobody was supposed to catch it. There was no moment where the shot became official.
