There’s more than just one type of value that organizations should be able to generate from AI. The first, and by far the most common, is subtractive value, the use of AI to take costs and inefficiencies out of their core business processes. A second type, which was the topic of the first article in this series, is additive value, the use of AI to generate revenue, revive at risk or dormant relationships, and tap into the hidden potential of its employees. And a third is what in our book Autonomous we call non-linear, or transformative, value, the use of AI to change the nature of entire businesses and industries, to change the game.
