AI and the law (2/3) - patently the devil is in the detail of legal services AI

The law is a set of rules, which makes it a prime candidate for automation. Meanwhile, competitive pressures, friction, and expense combine to make patent law into a major cause of delay for ambitious innovators: IP-led corporations have entire departments for speeding ideas from drawing board to global protection, but start-ups do not.

These two observations were the impetus for the foundation of Swedish AI venture Lightbringer, which joins the likes of contracts specialist Luminance in spinning a brand around the idea of using AI to illuminate legal services, making them accessible for anyone in the dark.
