That’s the mindset of Mike Reed, CEO of USA Today, but the continuing shift in consumer behavior away from traditional search is having some significant strategic consequences for the daily newspaper as it approaches its half-century in a few years time.

The USA Today Company. owns more than 200 local newspapers in the United States, along with flagship national daily USA Today, so its audience reach is massive. But as Reed explains:
