1Password's New Claude Integration Lets the AI Platform Log In for You
Late last week, 1Password introduced a unique integration with Claude that lets the AI sign in to third-party websites using your stored credentials. The integration is said to be able to do this without seeing your passwords or OTPs.
Claude triggers 1Password when you give it a prompt that requires a third-party account to fulfill. (In 1Password's example above, the user asks Claude to buy an audiobook on Audible.) The chatbot then requests a specific set of credentials from 1Password, then fills in your username, password, and/or OTP.
"Claude controls the web browser and navigation, but 1Password controls the autofill," a 1Password staffer says in a YouTube demonstration. "The agent never sees my password or my one-time code."
