And when you’re lucky, it may produce confident, plausible-sounding output, regardless of whether its creations are accurate, appropriate or suited to the situation at hand. The rest of the time, it’s essentially a glorified search engine that’s no easier than using Google to perform research tasks. That may be blunt, but it’s the truth.
If you want to alphabetize a list or do something else that you could accomplish with a pen or paper, AI assistance can be a reasonable shortcut.
