10-Core AMD Zen 6 CPU Crushes Single-Core Test On Geekbench
The early-2027 showdown between Intel's Nova Lake and AMD's Zen 6 promises to be a battle for the ages, so we're snapping up any scrap of information that we can about the performance of these two processor families. We already saw one leak from this very same processor, but it was underwhelming. That's what makes this new result, spotted by HXL, so interesting: it's quite a bit faster, and also paints an interesting picture for the performance of Zen 6.
The new result is the same "Plum-MDS1" processor with the same "AMD Eng Sample: 100-000001713" descriptor, although where that one was "-31_N", this one is "-33_N". That likely represents a newer revision of the chip, platform, or firmware, as the processor itself seems to be identical: ten total CPU cores, and 10MB of L2 cache plus 32MB of L3 cache.
Still, the scores are much higher than that earlier sample....
